Arsenal manager has reacted to rumours of a potential transfer of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho to Arsenal.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Brazilian-born Italy international whose position is currently under threat with Chelsea manager Frank Lampard keen to bring Declan Rice to Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window.
Arteta seems open to the idea of welcoming the former Napoli man.
“We are still open to improve our team,” he said during his conference.
“We are looking for different options depending on what happens with our players here. We are getting prepared just in case we need to do something.”
Asked to explain the qualities of Jorginho, Arteta said: “I cannot open up on players that play for a different team and their qualities. It’s not appropriate”
The Chelsea vice-captain could be on the move once Chelsea succeed in signing Declan Rice from West Ham but that’s a big if at the moment as the blues are yet to table an official bid for the midfielder with the transfer window set to close in 10 days.
