West Brom captain Jake Livermore has tipped Conor Gallagher to become a top player in future after the midfielder’s impressive start to the season.

The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Chelsea has started three games for West Brom, earning praises from his manager and team-mates.

Club captain Jake Livermore backs the youngster to have a huge future in the game.

“Conor’s been fantastic for me,” Jake told West Brom website.

“His energy levels and quality in training every day is a steal for us and I’m tipping him to be a top, top player.

“He wants to learn and has great ability going forward, but on the flip side he’s more than responsible at tracking back and he’s just got bags of energy.

“The athleticism that he’s got is what the game is becoming now and he’s got that in abundance. He’s been very impressive and I think he can be a really important player for us this season.”

Following West Brom’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham on Monday night, the Baggies’ manager Slaven Bilic singled out Gallagher and former Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic as top performers.

“I saw tonight a young kid Conor Gallagher and I saw Branislav Ivanovic,” Bilic said.

“A very young guy and an older guy, they had more commitment. That’s not good when you can see two players that are doing more than the others and it looked to me like that and it can’t be the case.”

Gallagher is definitely making the most of his time at the Premier League strugglers but will hope to keep up the performance and get into the Chelsea first-team squad before the start of next season.
