West Brom manager Slaven Bilic has hailed the performance of Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher in West Brom’s Carabao Cup penalty shootout defeat against Brentford.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who was making his debut played the full 90 minutes and produced an outstanding performance, acknowledged by his manager.

“With Conor, for a young guy to come here in his first game, the second half he was excellent,” Bilic said, as quoted by West London Sport.

“He showed exactly what we wanted from him. He is a dynamic player, busy player.

“He is good on the ball. He is always on the move. He had a couple of shots, for a midfielder a lot of shots. The keeper made a great save from him, so really, really good.”

The England youth international joined West Brom on a season-long loan after loan spells at Charlton and Swansea City in the Championship last season.
