After having a fantastic transfer window this summer, Chelsea are set to sign one final player before the window closes. The player is West Ham’s Declan Rice.
The former Chelsea academy player is very well-liked by the club and Lampard, and is considered as the final piece of the puzzle.
Chelsea’s defensive woes continue to wreak havoc on their start to the season with no defensive midfielder to cover the defensive line. This was visibly evident in the game against West Bromwich.
Chelsea are set to bid for Declan Rice this week, and with days left for the window to shut, Chelsea will look to move fast. To bring in Rice, Chelsea need to sell someone as well and the latest of the outgoings looks like Jorginho.

When asked about Jorginho, Thomas Tuchel smiled and said: “I cannot say anything, I can’t comment. But nice try!”
Judging by the current market, the Jorginho deal will be a loan with an option to buy as no club can pay full cash right now. Chelsea are also looking to sell either Alonso or Emerson and Bakayoko.
