Chelsea are reportedly close to signing Edouard Mendy for Rennais FC with talks said to be in an advanced stage.

After that, the blues will look to sign a defensive midfielder, with West Ham United star Declan Rice on top of their wishlist, according to The Telegraph.

Another one on the list is Lille’s Boubakary Soumare. Lille have stated they are ready to sell the 21-year-old. Any offer for Declan Rice would have to satisfy West Ham’s demands, and right now their asking price seems to be around £70m but Marina Granovskaia is a ruthless negotiator and will work to bring the price down.

Chelsea centre-back/midfielder, Ethan Ampadu has completed a year loan move to Sheffield United.

This could mean Chelsea are seriously going for a defensive midfielder. Mind you that any signings must be followed by a sale and Chelsea are in the process of selling Bakayoko(loan with a buy option) and Emerson. Jorginho could also be sold for the right price, but so far nothing is concrete regarding him.
