Chelsea have tabled a new improved bid for Rennes goalkeeper Édouard Mendy.
According to Goal France, the blues have tabled a second bid of €20m for the Senegalese goalkeeper who joined Rennes last summer from Reims.
Rennes are yet to respond to Chelsea’s latest offer, according to the report and it’s still unclear how the club chairman Nicolas Holveck will react to the bid from the London club.
The 28-year-old has been in fine form this season, attracting the attention of top clubs in Europe, especially Chelsea, who are looking for a goalkeeper to rival Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is still unconvinced by the performance of the Spain international and desperately needs a new goalkeeper before the start of the season in two weeks time.
