RB Leipzig star, Dayot Upemecano is likely to stay at the German club for the upcoming season.

There were talked of Manchester United’s interest in the French International. It is believed that they were preparing a bid of  £37.5 million for the young center half.

However, according to Bild’s senior reporter, Christian Falk, the rumours are not true and Upamecano is expected to stay at RB Leipzig this season.

Upemecano has also been linked with a move to Chelsea after an impressive season with RB Leipzig where he helped them finish third in Bundesliga and reach the Semi-Finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history.

He had a contract that ran until June 2021 with a release clause of  £54 million. However, he recently signed a new deal that ties him to the club until June 2023. The new release clause of  £37.5 million will kick on from the end of the 2020/21 season.

Chelsea have a good relationship with RB Leipzig. Last summer, the blues sent Ethan Ampadu to Leipzig on loan and recently signed Timo Werner from the German club.
