West Ham have maintained their stance on Declan Rice’s future. The midfielder who is wanted by Chelsea is set to remain at the London club this season.

It’s no surprise Frank Lampard admires Declan Rice and wants Chelsea to buy him. The 21-year-old was released from the Chelsea academy at the age of 14.

According to The Athletic, The Hammers are determined not to sell Declan Rice whose contract runs until 2024. The club knows about Chelsea’s interest in him and is prepared to stop any advances from the blues.

Chelsea knew West Ham were going to drive a hard bargain and are prepared to go to great lengths to secure Rice’s signature.

The Stamford Bridge outfit believe they can convince Rice to communicate the intent of leaving to West Ham and therefore get him for a lower fee but there are concerns within the club about re-signing a player who they released from the academy at the age of 14.

The Chelsea board believes that so far it has been a great transfer window for them even if they don’t get Rice. West Ham have had a rough start to the season.

The Athletic reports that West Ham are trying to strengthen their defence and searching for a Left-back with Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri one of the targets.

Chelsea view this as an opportunity for them to offer Emerson and cash for Declan Rice. Any negotiations regarding this kind of deal are premature at best and will require some time for things to get sorted out.
