Chelsea are planning to abandon the pursuit of Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell and focus on concluding a deal for Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilón.

A very reliable transfer news source revealed to TBS that Chelsea’s plan is to focus on securing Sergio Reguilón after being priced out of the race for Ben Chilwell who is valued at £80m, and Chelsea are not willing to go beyond £50m.

The 23-year-old Real Madrid academy product had a hugely successful season on loan at Sevilla and was voted 19/20 season La Liga’s best left-back.

His accomplishments have attracted suitors from all over Europe with Premier League side, Everton reportedly tabled an £18m offer.

Chelsea have also made their interest in Reguilon known and are expected to challenge Everton’s £18m bid in the coming days.

However, our source maintained that if Leicester City show signs of accepting Chelsea’s valuation of the player, the table could turn again. Chelsea are moving slowly towards Sergio Reguilón while hoping for a call from Leicester City.

The Brendan Rodgers’ side are keen to keep their star and aren’t willing to give Chelsea any reasonable discount.

The Blues have been linked with Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico and FC Porto’s Alex Telles in the past but the final battle belongs to Ben Chilwell and Sergio Reguilón.
