Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed via CBS sports that Chelsea are happy with summer acquisition Edouard Mendy and hereby are no longer in the market for a goalkeeper.

There were rumours about Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid but it was impossible to sign him due to the astronomical fee. Now, the club has also ruled out a bid for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma whose contract is up in the summer.

Edouard Mendy arrived amidst a major goalkeeping crisis at the club, as record transfer Kepa Arrizabalaga was going through a tough time with a patch of form reminiscent of some of the worst keepers the league has ever seen.

Mendy, though relatively unknown prior to his acquisition, has calmed all the nerves around the club. He has been one of the most influential signings of our transfer window and has been instrumental in keeping nine clean sheets in the twelve games he has played in the league and in Europe.

The Senegalese keeper has proved that he is more than capable of keeping his spot in the team, and he is destined for greatness at Chelsea Football Club. Thus it is understandable that Chelsea are not in the market for any other keeper, as everyone at the club including the fans are confident in Mendy.
