During the rise of the Pandemic, football resumed with a new rule where teams were allowed to make changes three times as previously but they could bring on a total of 5 players in those times.

The rule was not followed in the new season ahead but UEFA has continued to follow this rule in the tournaments hosted by them.

The Nations League, European Qualifies Play-Offs, Women’s Euro Qualifiers, The UCL, The UEL, and The UWCL, all will allow the teams to bring in 5 new faces as the match goes on.

Along with that, the number of players allowed on the team sheet will amount to 23 which implies 12 players on the bench.

This will come as a major move to a lot of managers who would want to keep the squad fresh with fixtures piling up in months of October and November.

Chelsea have some great players on the bench in the likes of Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud, Callum Hudson Odoi, Billy Gilmour, Ross Barkley, and many more players who would want to impress the manager to get back in the first eleven.

Frank Lampard will want his troops to use this to their advantage and create a good competition between his young squad.
