Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has revealed Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic is willing to fight Manchester City for the services of Barcelona star Lionel Messi if he becomes available next summer.
The Argentine is tipped to leave the club he joined a young boy next summer when his contract will officially expire.
Guillem Balague is adamant Chelsea will be in the mix for his signature.
“Chelsea, definitely in the equation if Messi becomes available. All that is true,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Tribal Football.
Messi handed in a transfer request to leave Barcelona in the summer but was turned down by Barca board.
Messi’s father and agent claimed his son’s contract had ended before the case was taken to La Liga who ruled in Barcelona’s favour and Messi stayed.
His fallout with the board of the clubs means he’s likely to leave the Nou Camp next summer.
