Chelsea have one of the best youth systems. Often considered in the same league as Barcelona and Ajax’s academy. The Chelsea academy has produced some great footballers over the years, most notably among them is club legend John Terry.
One of such youth players is Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu. On September 20, 2017 Ampadu made his senior debut for Chelsea in an EFL cup match and then went on to make his Premier League debut shortly afterwards. Ampadu impressed everyone with every chance he got but it was time for him to go out on loan to get regular game time.
He went to RB Leipzig on loan but didn’t feature too much and spent a chunk of the season with an injury. Now, he’s back in Chelsea training with the senior players and will hope to play for Chelsea sporadically atleast if not regularly.
The Wales international(at just 19 years) is putting up great numbers for his team in the recent Nations league games.

Great as a centre-back, great as a defensive midfielder.
Composure, anticipation, technique, passing, tenacity – he has it all to become a top player.
Ampadu is awesome.

Frank Lampard trusts him and wants to give him regular game time to develop further but who knows we may see a loan move for him if he wants to play week in week out.
There is no doubt about Ampadu’s ability as a CB and as a defensive midfielder, the main focus now is on his development.
