Bayer Leverkusen’s managing director Rudi Völler has insisted they have not received any concrete bid for Chelsea target Kai Havertz, according to latest quotes released by German publication, Kicker.
Chelsea are rumoured to be moving closer to sealing a deal for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, as Frank Lampard continues to revamp his attack after signing Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Völler denied this and claimed the youngster is guaranteed to feature for Bayer 04 in the Europa League next month.
“It’s set in stone,” he told Kicker.
On possible transfer, Voller said there won’t be a discount for any potential buyer despite the current economic climate.
“There is no corona bonus,” he said.
“Regardless of the personnel, Kai Havertz, it is a different transfer period. There is no new stand.”
However, despite Rudi Völler’s stance, it’s very obvious that Chelsea are close to signing Kai Havertz this summer. It could come after Leverkusen’s Europa League campaign, but right now, it will take a huge dramatic twist to turn it around.
