Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer has labelled Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy as ‘world-class’ following a strong start to the season by the Senegalese goal-minder.

Mendy has conceded only three goals in 12 appearances for Chelsea so far this season, keeping 9 clean sheets in the process.

It seems his form has gone unnoticed as one of the best goalkeepers in the world Manuel Neuer picked him as a world-class goalkeeper in a report by Talk Sport.

“There are a lot of world-class goalies right now. For example, Edouard Mendy, who moved from Rennes to Chelsea,” he said.

“He is a player that we only saw in Ligue 1, who joined a big club and who was immediately successful. It’s great to see that. Overall, I’m happy to see so many good goalies because we’re a brotherhood.”

Chelsea signed Mendy from Rennes for £22m in the summer and he has gone on to become one of the most important players at Stamford Bridge.
