Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has opened up on how Chelsea legend Didier Drogba became his idol while growing up.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria striker who shares similar playing style with the legendary Ivorian striker talked about how he picked interest in Drogba and subsequent idolised him.

“I grew up watching Didier Drogba play, he was an example for me,” Osimhen said on the Napoli YouTube channel as quoted by Goal.

“One day I was training and a man called me asking if I knew who I play like. He told me to go to YouTube and see Didier Drogba.

“There I fell in love with his way of playing and the kind of person he is. From that moment, seeing Drogba play had a major impact on my game and helped me a lot.”

Napoli signed the highly-rated 21-year-old striker from Lille for €50m reportedly rising to €81.3 million and became the Serie A club’s record signing.
