Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly made contact with Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero over a possible move to Real Betis this summer.

The pair worked together at Malaga and enjoyed a successful period in Malaga’s history. When Pellegrini joined Manchester City, he bought Caballero from Malaga.

According to popular Spanish media, the Chilean manager has already spoken to the Argentine goalkeeper and wants to make him a starter at Real Betis.

Chelsea triggered their option to extend Willy Caballero’s contract by a year in May, which means he is under contract until June 2021.

The Blues signed Caballero on a free transfer from Manchester City in 2017 on a one-year deal and last summer they took up the option to extend that through the 2018/19 campaign.
