Former RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick has hailed Chelsea’s record signing Kai Havertz, called him ‘a perfect player’.

Havertz joined Chelsea from Leverkusen this summer in a £70m deal and bagged a hat-trick in his third game against Barnsley in the Caraboa Cup in midweek.

Rangnick, who has been following the 21-year-old since his early days in Bundesliga revealed he wanted to sign him during his time at RB Leipzig.

And backed him to become a huge success story at Stamford Bridge.

“I have no doubt he will be a sustainable success & become one of the top players over the next few years,” Rangnick said.

“I tried to sign him in Leipzig. I don’t seee any weaknesses in his football. He is a modern Johan Cruyff. This transfer will be a success for Chelsea”

Havertz is set to start for Chelsea for the fourth consecutive match when the blues face West Brom in the Premier League tomorrow.
