Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva is carrying a hip injury which caused him discomfort in Chelsea’s 0-0 draw against Sevilla on Tuesday, according to London News Online.
The Brazilian finished the game but was in discomfort which could prompt a late decision from Chelsea manager Frank Lampard ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow.
The 36-year-old has been an influential part of Chelsea’s defence so far, picking up two clean sheets in Chelsea’s last two games he featured in.
Lampard will provide an update on Silva’s injury status during his press conference this afternoon.
It would be a huge miss for Chelsea if the Brazilian doesn’t recover on time for the match at Old Trafford, considering Manchester United’s current form.
The Red Devils who beat PSG 2-1 away from home in the Champions League will be in high spirit going into the game against Chelsea who lost two league matches against them last season.
