Former Chelsea star Fernando Torres has backed Chelsea to become a major force in Europe again following the club’s latest recruitment drive.

Chelsea have made massive investment this summer, with more than £200m already spent on six players so far.

Torres feels Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich is set to dominate Europe once again.

“In the next two or three years, the Premier League, again, will be the top league in the world,” the Spaniard told TalkSport, as quoted by London Football.

“The future stars are going there. It’s an exciting moment for Premier League fans. I think he (Abramovich) has a really good project and huge ambition.

“They are building again with Lampard. They have the mentality to be one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“I’m sure in the coming years that Chelsea will win more trophies.”

Chelsea began their Premier League campaign with a 3-1 win over Brighton on Monday night.
