Chelsea star Marco van Ginkel has revealed he’s very close to making a long-awaited return to the pitch.

The 27-year-old who is currently on loan at Dutch side PSV is yet to play a competitive football since May 2018 due to injury.

However, he believes he is just about to complete his rehabilitation and play football again.

“I feel good and I always have to keep the right balance,” he told Eindhovens Dagblad, as quoted by Football Orange.

“Three or four times a week I now join the group and I am almost there. The most important thing is to take the last steps in a responsible manner to be able to cash in on the entire recovery process.“

“The training shows how it will all go. At some point, I might play in an eleven against eleven. It has definitely not always been easy. Of course not. I do not think it has been healthy what I have been through.

“Mentally and physically it does something to you, but I didn’t need a mental coach for that. My girlfriend, parents, parents-in-law and friends have always been there for me. They are great. I have enough of that.”
